Washington Quarters first time in 1932 to honor the first USA president and founding father. These coins were made to mark the bicentenary of Washington’s birth. The composition of  Washington quarters is about ninety percent silver and ten percent copper and 1946 quarters also have this same composition. The 1965 quarters changed in composition due to the high prices of silver and the hoarding of coins. The high prices of silver caused to removal of quarters and dimes also. The new composition comes with a copper core but has silver colors that are due to copper and silver alloy.

The dimensions of 1965 quarts are the same as older quarters. The new coins have a harder structure as compared to older coins so they have difficult strike.

Either composition of these coins changed but their design of quarters coins remained unchanged from 1932 to 1998. After that 50 states quarters series started.
